Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

These Stuffed Cabbage Rolls are filled with beef, rice, onion, garlic in a homemade tomato sauce.

Ingredients:

• 1lb.  Ground Beef

• 2 cups Cooked White Rice

• 1 cup Chopped Onion

• 1 Clove of Garlic, , chopped

• 1 Egg

• 1 tsp. Salt

• Black Pepper to taste

• 1 large can of Tomato Sauce

• 1 can Diced Tomatoes

• 1 cup Chopped Onion

• 1/2 cup Brown Sugar

Other Ingredients:

• 1 head of Cabbage, removed the core of cabbage and peel off cabbage leaves one at time

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Boil the cabbage leaves until for about 2 minutes until soft and set aside to cool.
  3. In boiling water, cook the white rice until tender for about 5 minutes.
  4. In a skillet over med high heat, cook ground beef, onions and garlic with salt, black pepper until beef is done and onions are tender. Drain Off grease. Add in the rice, stir well until combined.
  5. Add in 1/2 cup tomato sauce and brown sugar, add in egg, stir well until combined.
  6. Lay cabbage leaves flat on surface and add in the beef mixture and roll cabbage leaves tightly and repeat this steps until done.
  7. Spread on the bottom of greased baking dish tomato sauce and place cabbage rolls on top, top with remaining tomato sauce and diced tomatoes.
  8. Bake for 60 minutes and let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
