
Ingredients:
• 2 lbs. Brussels Sprouts, trimmed out the outer leaves and sliced
• 2 Shallots, peeled, halved and sliced
• 2 tbsp. Flour
• 1 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
• Salt and Black Pepper to taste
• 1 2/4 cups Milk
• 1 tbsp. Butter, softened
• 1 package Grated Gruyere Cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a pot of boiling water over med high heat add in brussels sprouts to blanch for 3 minutes until tender. Drain off water and rinse with cold water.
- In a skillet over med high heat add in the butter and saute shallots until softened about 4 minutes.
- Add in the flour and stir for 2 minutes.
- Pour in the milk and stirring occasionally. Add in nutmeg and cheese until thickened like white sauce.
- Add in the brussels sprouts into cheese mixture, stir well mixed.
- Pour in a greased baking dish and sprinkle more cheese over top.
- Bake for 20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly hot. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
