Brussels Sprouts Gratin

This Brussels Sprouts Gratin is cheesy with brussel sprouts making it a perfect side dish.

Ingredients:

• 2 lbs. Brussels Sprouts, trimmed out the outer leaves and sliced

• 2 Shallots, peeled, halved and sliced

• 2 tbsp. Flour

• 1 tsp. Ground Nutmeg

• Salt and Black Pepper to taste

• 1 2/4 cups Milk

• 1 tbsp. Butter, softened

• 1 package Grated Gruyere Cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a pot of boiling water over med high heat add in brussels sprouts to blanch for 3 minutes until tender. Drain off water and rinse with cold water.
  3. In a skillet over med high heat add in the butter and saute shallots until softened about 4 minutes.
  4. Add in the flour and stir for 2 minutes.
  5. Pour in the milk and stirring occasionally. Add in nutmeg and cheese until thickened like white sauce.
  6. Add in the brussels sprouts into cheese mixture, stir well mixed.
  7. Pour in a greased baking dish and sprinkle more cheese over top.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly hot. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
