Apple Galette

This Apple Galette is loaded  with apples filling in homemade crust top with cinnamon sugar for a dessert dessert.

Ingredients:

Apple Filling

• 4 Green Apples, peeled, sliced

• 2 tbsp. Flour

• 4 tbsp. Brown Sugar

• 1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon

• 1/2 tsp . Ground Almond

• 1/2 tsp. Ground Nutmeg

• 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

• 1 tbsp. Fresh Lemon Juice from one lemon

• 2 tbsp. Unsalted Butter, softened

Crust

• 1 cup Self Rising Flour

• 2 tbsp. Granulated Sugar

• 3 tbsp. Water

• 1 Stick Unsalted Butter, cut into cubes

Topping

• 1 Egg, slightly beaten

• Sprinkle Ground Cinnamon

• Sprinkle Coarse Sugar

Instructions:

Crust

  1. In a bowl sift the flour, sugar together well mixed
  2. Add in the butter, use a pastry cutter to cut butter into flour and sugar until comes to crumble.
  3. Add in the water until it’s moistened.
  4. Remove dough to a flour surface and knead the dough about 4 times until it comes together. Place in the fridge until ready to use.

Apple Filling

  1. In a mixing bowl add in the ingredients and stir well until combined.

Assembly

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Take dough out of the fridge and place on a flour surface. Roll out the dough using a rolling pin 12 inch circle.
  3. Place the dough onto the parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  4. Pour in the apple filling out evenly in the dough crust.
  5. Fold the dough crust around the edges of apple pie filling.
  6. Brush the dough crust with egg and sprinkle on the cinnamon and sugar.
  7. Bake for 35 minutes until light golden brown and the filling is bubbly hot. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
