
Ingredients:
Apple Filling
• 4 Green Apples, peeled, sliced
• 2 tbsp. Flour
• 4 tbsp. Brown Sugar
• 1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp . Ground Almond
• 1/2 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
• 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
• 1 tbsp. Fresh Lemon Juice from one lemon
• 2 tbsp. Unsalted Butter, softened
Crust
• 1 cup Self Rising Flour
• 2 tbsp. Granulated Sugar
• 3 tbsp. Water
• 1 Stick Unsalted Butter, cut into cubes
Topping
• 1 Egg, slightly beaten
• Sprinkle Ground Cinnamon
• Sprinkle Coarse Sugar
Instructions:
Crust
- In a bowl sift the flour, sugar together well mixed
- Add in the butter, use a pastry cutter to cut butter into flour and sugar until comes to crumble.
- Add in the water until it’s moistened.
- Remove dough to a flour surface and knead the dough about 4 times until it comes together. Place in the fridge until ready to use.
Apple Filling
- In a mixing bowl add in the ingredients and stir well until combined.
Assembly
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Take dough out of the fridge and place on a flour surface. Roll out the dough using a rolling pin 12 inch circle.
- Place the dough onto the parchment paper lined baking sheet.
- Pour in the apple filling out evenly in the dough crust.
- Fold the dough crust around the edges of apple pie filling.
- Brush the dough crust with egg and sprinkle on the cinnamon and sugar.
- Bake for 35 minutes until light golden brown and the filling is bubbly hot. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
