
Ingredients:
• 1 1/2 cup Cornmeal
• 1/4 cup Self Rising Flour
• 1 tbsp. White Sugar
• 1 1/2 cup Buttermilk
• 1 Egg
• 4 tbsp. Melted Unsalted Butter
• 2 tbsp. Vegetable Oil or Bacon Dripping
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease a cast iron skillet with bacon dripping or veg oil. Place the cast iron skillet into the oven.
- In a bowl add in cornmeal, flour and sugar, milk, egg, stir well until combined. Stir in the melted butter.
- Take the hot cast iron skillet out of the oven and pour the batter into the skillet.
- Place skillet back into the oven and bake for 20 minutes until light golden brown. Serve warm.
