Southern Cornbread

This cornbread is made from flour, sugar and other ingredients.

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 cup Cornmeal

• 1/4 cup Self Rising Flour

• 1 tbsp. White Sugar

• 1 1/2 cup Buttermilk

• 1 Egg

• 4 tbsp. Melted Unsalted Butter

• 2 tbsp. Vegetable Oil or Bacon Dripping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease a cast iron skillet with bacon dripping or veg oil. Place the cast iron skillet into the oven.
  2. In a bowl add in cornmeal, flour and sugar, milk, egg, stir well until combined. Stir in the melted butter.
  3. Take the hot cast iron skillet out of the oven and pour the batter into the skillet.
  4. Place skillet back into the oven and bake for 20 minutes until light golden brown. Serve warm.
