Chocolate Birthday Cake

This Chocolate Birthday Cake is moist and flavored with chocolate with chocolate buttercream frosting.

Ingredients:

Cake:

• 2 cups Self-Rising Flour

• 1 tsp. Salt

• 1 cup Granulated Sugar

• 1 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

• 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

• 1/2 cup Chocolate Milk

• 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil

• 2 Large Eggs

Chocolate Buttercream Frosting:

• 4 tbsp. Butter

• 2 cups Confectioner Sugar

• 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder

• 1/2 cup Chocolate Milk

• 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

Instructions:

Cake:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and greased two round cake pans with cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl of stand mixer add in the flour, salt, sugar and cocoa powder, mix well.
  3. Add in vanilla extract, oil and pour in chocolate milk, add in eggs one at time, beat well until combined.
  4. Pour the cake batter into greased two round cake pans about 1/2 full of batter each pan.
  5. Bake for 35 minutes until light golden brown and let cakes cool for 10 minutes before frosting.

Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

  1. In a bowl of stand mixer, add in butter, vanilla extract and cocoa powder, mix well.
  2. Add in sugar, chocolate milk and best well until smooth and fluffy.

Assemble:

  1. Place one cake layer on a cake plate frost it spread out evenly and top with second cake layer, frost it spread out evenly around the sides.
  2. Add candy sprinkles around edges top of the cake and birthday candles on top.
