Pear Upside-Down Chocolate Cake:

This Pear Upside-Down Cake is made with chocolate cake and fresh pears.

Ingredients:

Chocolate Cake:

• 2 cups Self-Rising Flour

• 1/2 tsp. Salt

• 1 cup Granulated Sugar

• 1 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

• 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

• 4 oz. Dark Chocolate, chopped

• 1/3 cup Unsalted Butter

• 1/2 cup Milk

Pear Topping:

• 3 Ripe Fresh Pears, peeled, cored and cut into 12 slices

• 1 cup Granulated Sugar

• 1/3 cup Water

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and greased a springform pan with cooking spray.

Cake:

2. In a bowl of stand mixer, add in flour, salt, sugar and cocoa powder, dark chocolate, mix well.

3. Add in butter, milk, vanilla extract and beat well until combined.

Pear Topping:

4. In a mixing bowl, add in sugar and water, fresh pears slices, mix well until combined.

Assemble:

5. Place pear mixture on bottom of springform pan and pour the cake batter on top of pears.

6. Bake for 35 minutes until light golden brown and let cake cool for 10 minutes.

7. On a serving plate turn the cake over on it and showing the pear upright.
