Blooming Onion


Ingredients:

• 1 large Yellow Onion

• 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour

• 1 tsp. Garlic Powder

• 1 tsp. Onion Powder

• 1/2 cup Paprika

• 1/2 tsp. Italian Seasoning

• 1/2 tsp. Chili Powder

• 1/2 tsp. Salt

• 1/2 tsp. Black Pepper

• 1/2 cup Milk

• 1 Egg

• 1 tbsp. Melted Butter

• Vegetable Oil

Instructions:

Preheat a deep fryer with hot oil.

Place the onion on a cutting board and cut off 1/2 inch on the top and peel off skin.

Place the onion upside down and cut 1/2 inch from the root, cut downward cutting through. Repeat this step and spaced cuts around the edges.

In a bowl, add in the flour, spices, mix well.

In another bowl, add in the egg, milk and melted butter.

In a bowl place in onion in and add in flour mixture and then pour egg mixture over onion.

Place the onion in the freezer for 10 minutes.

Take onion out of the freezer and use tongs to place onion in hot oil deep fryer. Cook for 2 minutes until crispy golden brown and place it on paperlined plate to drain off excess. grease. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
