Easy Marinara Sauce

This homemade marinara sauce is so easy to serve over pasta.

This marinara sauce is thickened and rich in flavor with ingredients to make under 20 minutes.

Marinara Sauce Ingredients

• Crushed Tomatoes – You can use canned crushed tomatoes or make your own crushed tomatoes recipe. My homemade crushed tomatoes recipe is below.

• Onions – Use one onion and finely diced into the sauce.

• Garlic – When using a garlic for the sauce is to minced.

• Salt – Kosher salt is best to use in this recipe.

• Fresh Herbs – Fresh thyme and fresh basil with 1 tsp. each to chopped them in the sauce.

• Olive Oil – The olive oil gives the sauce a thickened and use 1 tbsp.

How to make marinara sauce

The easy way to make marinara sauce to follow this instructions.

• Cook the onion with olive oil and add in the garlic, let it saute for 30 seconds.

• Add in the crushed tomatoes, salt and thyme, let it simmer until thickened, stirring occasionally.

• Stir in the basil and remove sauce from heat.

• Pour over pasta like spaghetti, lasagna and baked cheesy meatball casserole.

• Use on pizza for tomato sauce and mini pizza bites

Storage Tips

• To stored the marinara sauce in a glass jar with airtight container in fridge will last up to 4 days.

• Can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months and when ready to use, thawed overnight in the fridge.


Easy Marinara Sauce

This marinara sauce is easy to make with 5 ingredients.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Total: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

• 1 can Crushed Tomatoes

• 1 cup Onion, finely diced

• 4 Clove Garlic, minced

• 1/2 tsp. Kosher Salt

• Fresh thyme and fresh basil, 1 tbsp. each

Instructions:

In a pot over med high heat, add in onions and garlic, saute until tender about 30 seconds.

Pour in the crushed tomatoes and salt and thyme, let simmer about 25 minutes until sauce is thickened.

Remove from heat and stir in the basil. Serve.
